WIN: Les Chansons de L’Amour (Love Songs)

In a former life, I was a Francophile.  It started with a love for philosophy, then the existential ideals of Jean-Paul Sartre; then his better half Simone de Beauvoir; coupled with the elitist ‘literature major’ longing to read their works in their native tongue.  All it took was one snowy impulse trip to Paris - my first travel experience sans parents - to seal the love affair.

While that interest has since waned, I still enjoy bits of French culture of which this is delicious.  Les Chansons de L’Amour feels like what I’d imagine a musical of contemporary twentysomething life to be.  I have the soundtrack in my shuffle and it put a little spring in my step yesterday when Je n’aime que toi came on after a long absence.

That and I totally covet Ludivine Sagnier’s white coat.

“Aime-moi moins mais aime-moi longtemps.”

Note: the trailer is one 2:31 spoiler alert.  But that’s doesn’t really impact the cinematic viewing experience.
