SUNDAY, MAY 17TH - The ‘Tracy Feith for Target’ Debut
I covet. I was fully committed to visiting the Tracy Feith for Target pop-up store in New York - a la McQueen - except recently found out there will be no pop-up store. Above are the two pieces I want: the collection’s whimsically mismatched pattern dress and the black motorcycle jacket, modeled after one Tracy made his son. Oh, wishful thinking.
While I like how his clothes capture that fun ’60s vibe, I dig Tracy more for the story of how he got into fashion. The Dallas native, surfer, and skater started by customizing his skate gear and sneaking into sewing factories to craft pieces for his first loosely-defined collection. Did you have a newsprint patterned shirt in your ’90s wardrobe? That trend was inspired by his line. After a stint of success, however, he went underground… only recently to reemerge more popular than ever. As many recall, Michelle wore his dress for the National Prayer Service following Obama’s inauguration. She also recently wore it again I believe on their trip to Europe.
Target.com - I will be watching you.
